FIRST UP -- Jim from Rhode Island

5-12-02 Good Morning,  I was given intravenous sedatives plus local heel anesthesia. I went to a surgical center where I was prepared for the doctor. I had oxygen plus ear muffs as they said the machine made lotsa noise. I think they released me too soon as I was drowsy. Anyway, something did happen for the better with my foot although the bottom of my heel is still very sore. I get up in the morning without that pain and limping. I have expensive orthotics in my shoes.  I have a week's supply of Vioxx which I take. The pain med prescription I had filled but do not need that since I am not in pain. They told me  it would take one to two weeks to lose soreness if the procedure works. I sure hope it does/ It seems to be. Jim V. 7-30-02 Hello Dr. Zapf,  Thanks for asking. Well, It took a long time  but I can say that the procedure  was worth it. The heel is still tender to a hard touch but I no longer wake up crippled in the morning. I would say 85% improved!! Of course , I must admit that I should have rested it more after the procedure but I had so much  work to do outside. I am satisfied with the results. Could it be repeated to get rid of the other 10 to 15% of discomfort? I don't want to be greedy though,. Jim  V.
