Hello I came across your website and found in very
informative. I have a few questions if you would please read and give me your
opinion, I'd be very grateful.
I have had a wart on the top of my foot for over 10
years (I'm 28) Nothing worked and this year I also had 2 small warts pop up
near it (one on the pinky toe and one about 2 inches
from the big wart) I also have some very very tiny ones on my hands that are
smooth, but I wanted to tackle these first... I finally decided to try a home
remedy I was told would work, apple cider vinegar and duct tape. The 2 small
warts the were fairly new quickly turned black and I was able to pry then
gently off. The big one however is proving more difficult. I pulled off
(with tweezers that are used for nothing else) the tops layer of black
dried up wart and discovered another layer of black fibrous like wart tissue
beneath it. I'm continuing with the treatment as its only been a week but my
skin around the wart is getting very red bumpy and irritated, it really hurts.
And so far has left a fairly deep hole in my skin. Is this safe to continue to
completely rid myself of the wart ? Or can I stop now that the root is black ?
Jennifer
Dear Jennifer, Of course I cannot really answer this question without seeing the lesions (you did not send a photo). Warts rarely turn all black with treatment but they can if the entire top of the lesions is killed with an acid (vinegar is acetic acid) and occluded with duct tape. If it was a wart I might suggest continue.
