Wernert before.jpg (44133 bytes)No, it is not a corn. It had me fooled at first, as well. It is a wart on the outside of the 5th toe in the same position where a corn would usually reside. If it were a corn the cause would be the shoe that rubs the little toe. Treatment would either be to alter the shoes (bigger, wider, etc.), trim and pad the corn or do a hammertoe surgery on the 5th toe. The hammertoe surgery could be done in the office under local anesthesia. For more on hammertoes see The answer to this toe was revealed after I "debrided" the lesion. This is what I saw under the callus. Wernert after.jpg (54641 bytes) If you double click on he picture you will see multiple nests of warts!. There are also a few of the areas of pinpoint bleeding (they look black in the picture but there were red when I did it) For more on warts please see I am treating this wart with bleomycin injections. For more

 information on bleomycin please see
